Week 9
Versus
For the Mid-Penn Colonial Championship
What a difference two years make!
In
late fall 2003, the Polar Bears squared off against the
Northern
started off the evening with a systematic drive culminating in a 21 yard
touchdown pass from Colby Betz to Digger Morrett. On the night, Colby was a perfect 7-7 for 155
yards and three TD's. Four of those
passes went 96 yards to Chad Halterman who also scored. All in all, nine different Polar Bears scored
touchdowns.
Steve
Morrett 21 yard pass from Colby Betz
Dane Eichelberger 3 yard run
Chad Halterman 48 yard pass from Colby Betz
Corey Betz 33 yard pass from Colby Betz
Gerald Anderson 28 yard interception return
Josh Kefauver 24 yard interception return
Mike Romagnoli 7 yard run
Jimmy Miller 1 yard run
Eddie Stephenson 16 yard run
On
the ground, Mike Romagnoli carried the ball 10 times for 90 yards and a
score. The Polar bears played as perfect
a game as they ever had holding the Bull Dogs to -7 yards of total offense in a
first half in which they outscored Big Spring 48-0. Northern picked off Bull Dog QB, JC Miller, 4
times and Garret Shumaker twice. Craig
Moose, Brandon Adams, and Jimmy Miller, along with the rest of Northern's
defensive wall were amazing sacking, tackling, and hammering every Bull Dog
ball carrier. The hit of the night came
when Josh Kefauver slammed Big Spring receiver, Ty Cyr, across the middle
dislodging the ball that was eventually recovered by Big Spring 20 yards behind
the line of scrimmage.
Senior
Night, Championship Night, and Friday Night Football all rolled into one.
What
a night!
