Scrimmage vs. West York

August 18, 2007

Needless to say, it’s always better to hit someone other than you teammates.  The 2007 Bears got to do that on Saturday morning when West York came to town.  With the pre-season Lebanon series over, the coaching staffs and AD’s of both West York and Northern struck a deal that would have the teams facing off prior to the season opener.  It is a terrific arrangement as both schools are evenly matched and both are Triple A.

Northern’s coaches had the task of getting 80+ players in for some playing time while at the same time giving their Varsity squads a look.  While it is exciting having so many young men be part of the program, it can be quite cumbersome.  Regardless, our coaches got it done.

There were good things on both sides of the ball and things that the team will address in practice this week prior to the scrimmage at Dover Friday night.  Nonetheless, it’s good to hit someone else for a change.
