The Northern High
School Junior Varsity Polar Bears serve a triple
purpose in the school's successful PIAA, AAA football program. They practice Tuesday-Thursday as the
Varsity's scout team, they fill in admirably as substitutes and on special
teams during Varsity games, and they play their own schedule of games on
Monday evenings throughout the season.
Each player works tirelessly on his own technique in the hopes that,
someday, they will be playing under the Friday Night lights.
Let's face
it; the JV team doesn't get a whole lot of press. This web page is dedicated to the hard
work of these unsung players. It's
a pictorial summary of their game against East
Pennsboro at Bostic stadium.
The pictures are embedded chronologically from warm-ups, until the
4th quarter. These future Polar
Bear stars take a great deal of pride in their team and work from whistle
to whistle.
On this
particular night, they battled back from a 7-point deficit to win in the
4th quarter, 21-14.
They are
now 4 and 1.
