Versus

Lebanon High School

After hitting only teammates thus far in two-a-day football practices, it was great to see our polar bears bang against some different colored jerseys.  Lebanon High School came to Bostic on the heels of a strong finish last season.  They have pretty good size and depth and offered a great pre-season tune up for our Polar Bears.

In a controlled scrimmage, each team runs 10 plays on both sides of the ball.  Referees are used but only as a guideline, and coaches get to coach before, during, and after each play as they stand midfield.  The Bears moved the ball well up and down the field and the defense was very strong.  The Junior Varsity came in late in the scrimmage and dominated themselves on both sides of the ball.  As Coach Mauck pointed out after the scrimmage though, it doesn't count and no-one should be too high or low based on performances today.

Our boys will get a well deserved day and a half off and be back at two-a-days on Monday morning.  This Friday August 26, Northern will tee it up again against a different opponent when they travel to Dover for the final tune up of the season.
